Event Details

Event Date: March 30th - April 1st, 2026
Location: University of Leeds Business School, Leeds, UK.

Overview

Past, Present and Future of Particle Technology Conference is a three-day conference and workshop hosted by the University of Leeds.
The event will feature four plenary and nine keynote lectures by international leaders, along with a range of oral and poster presentations selected from submitted abstracts. It will cover topics such as material characterisation, process design and multi-scale modelling methods, such as DEM, CFD, and PBM.

Abstract submission is currently open until the 28th of February.

Early-Career Researcher Support

The conference will also have a dedicated Early-Career Researcher Session. To support Early-Career Researchers (including current PhD students), CCC-ParaSolS will be offering financial support (conference fee) for several researchers to attend and participate in this conference.

Note

For this event, “Early-Career Researcher” is defined as anyone up to two years post-PhD.

The organisers may request proof of this two year cut-off.

Selection Process

In order to select the lucky attendees, we are requesting that all interested candidates send us a short video of 3 minutes or less presenting an overview of your research. The video (and conference presentation, if selected) must be DEM-focused. You can include slides if you wish, but please do not use any AI-generated or edited video.

Video resolution is not important but audio should be clear. You can record via your favourite presentation suite, video conferencing tool, etc.

The winning videos will be chosen by independent members of the CCC-ParaSolS Management Committee, who are not involved in the research of any of the video submitters. The evaluation criteria will be scientific quality, research novelty, and engagingness of presentation. The videos will only be shared with members of the Management Committee and will not be disseminated beyond this.

Submission

Please send a link to the video to the CCC-ParaSolS mailbox: parasols@ed.ac.uk. The deadline for submission is February 16th and all submitters will be informed of a decision no later than February 20th.

All conference abstract submissions should be completed by following the instructions on the conference website.

This competition is only available to CCC-ParaSolS community members in the UK who joined the community prior to February 2026.
