Dates: September 1st – 3rd, 2026
Location: The Department of Mathematics at The University of Manchester, Manchester. Online participation will also be possible via Teams.

This event focused on the use of multi-physics in the simulation of particulate solids. There was a selection of invited speakers and workshop/tutorial sessions spread across the three days, with the full list of speakers and topics described below.

Important

In order to follow through the tutorial on running a CFD-DEM simulation you will need to have a laptop capable of using Linux/Unix (this can be a Linux/Unix virtual machine, WSL on Windows, most Linux distros or MacOS).

Note that on MacOS, ARM support should not be an issue, but cannot be guaranteed.

Reimbursement of Expenses

Those whose attendance expenses will be reimbursed will be informed no later than August 12th. These attendees should read and follow the guidance here on which expenses can be claimed for, and the mechanism for reimbursement.

CCC-ParaSolS will be able to reimburse the travel and subsistence expenses of some attendees up to to a maximum value of £350 — but perhaps not all, depending on the level of interest: hence the hybrid joining possibility.
